Dana White Wants More Women’s Divisions In The UFC

MMA

UFC President Dana White was once against having women competing in the UFC, but then his opinion started to change when Ronda Rousey entered the sport.

It has been a few years since women have invaded the UFC and now the UFC President wants more female weight classes in the promotion.

"Women's fighting has become very popular," White said to ESPNW. "I waited for a while to pull the trigger on this division, and I think it's time. I'm ready to do it now. There are a lot of 125-pound women out there fighting already. Now they'll get the opportunity to fight in the UFC. We'll have four women's divisions, and as far as I'm concerned we can't have enough."

The newest weight class for the women of the UFC is going to be flyweight. The first UFC Women?s Flyweight Champion is going to be crowned at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale later this year.

Currently, the UFC has three female champion?s on the roster, they are Joanna Jedrzejczyk (strawweight), Amanda Nunes (bantamweight) and Germaine De Randamie (featherweight).

Joanna Jedrzejczyk?s the next female champion to defend her gold, as she?ll be defending it against Jessica Andrade in the co-main event of UFC 211.
