Dana White: “We’re Working On A Nate Diaz Fight Right Now”

UFC President Dana White and fan favourite Nate Diaz are discussing a return for the Stockton-born star.

The brash UFC President announced that the promotion has a return for Nate Diaz on the cusp.

"It would put him in a really good position if he won the fight and the guy who he could potentially be fighting," he told TheMacLife's Oscar Willis. "I think it's a great fight for him too."

White did not name an opponent or a date for Diaz's return.

Diaz, a former WEC lightweight champion, last fought at UFC 244 in a losing effort in a bid to claim the promotion's inaugural BMF belt against former welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal. The 35-year-old TUF season five winner has been in the UFC since 2007 and holds a 15-10 record in the promotion.

In the meantime, Diaz's longtime foe Conor McGregor will return after a nearly 13-month-hiatus when he rematches Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 254. The event takes place at Fight Island on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Keep up with Fightful for all your fight night coverage.
