Daniel Cormier Calls Cain Velasquez The Best Heavyweight Ever In The UFC

MMA

Daniel Cormier became a two division UFC champion at UFC 226 when he defeated Stipe Miocic by first round knockout to win the UFC Heavyweight Title.

The two division champion is now the only fighter besides Conor McGregor to hold two belts in the UFC from two different weight classes at the same time.

Despite all of his success in the UFC and MMA in general, it isn?t hard for DC to admit that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez is the best heavyweight fighter in the promotions history.

?The reason the fight was so easy today was because for the last 8 weeks I?ve been getting beat up by Cain Velasquez,? Cormier said at the UFC 226 post-fight press conference. ?He?s still the best, man. He?s the best heavyweight the UFC has ever seen. He does things that you just don?t expect somebody to do. Still, outta shape, he comes in here and does three or four rounds with me - and I?m exhausted.?

Velasquez and Cormier have been teammates for a longtime at the American Kickboxing Academy, which may be the only place MMA fans will ever get a chance to see the two competitors face off against each other.

It has been quite a long time since fans saw Velasquez in the Octagon, with that last appearance coming at UFC 200.
