Daniel Dubois Knocks Out Richard Lartey In Fourth Round, Wins WBO Global Title

Daniel Dubois' latest knockout win came in a very thrilling, yet short fight with Richard Lartey.

Dubois knocked out Lartey in the fourth round of their fight for the WBO Global heavyweight title. The fight headlined a boxing card at Wembley Arena in London that was streamed on ESPN+ in the United States.

The fight was an exciting back-and-forth bout that had both men trade wild punches in various moments, but it was Dubois who always had the upper hand. Dubois opened things up by using the jab to establish his rhythm and break down Lartey's defense. Dubois was quickly successful in doing so as he had no problem hurting Lartey throughout the rest of the fights. The knockout came in a little more than halfway through the fourth round when Dubois connected on a right hand amidst a series of left hands upstairs.

Now with the WBO Global title in his hand, Dubois has his sights set on another title against a similarly-hyped British heavyweight prospect. Dubois could potentially face WBA Gold and Commonwealth champion Joe Joyce for the vacant British heavyweight title.

The British Boxing Board of Control recently announced that Dubois and Joyce are set to face off later this year and the likelihood of the fight actually becoming a reality was only augmented with the announcement that Joyce signed a co-promotional deal with Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions, the same company that also promotes Dubois.
