At UFC Fight Night 100, Darren Stewart defeated Francimar Barroso by first round TKO, but an apparent headbutt that wasn?t caught by the referee may have led to the finish. The CABMMA would overturn the TKO victory for Stewart into a no contest, siting the referee?s error as one of the major factors for overturning the result.
Stewart has since taken to his Instagram account, where he posted the following message about the whole situation, warning fighters against fighting in Brazil.
?To say I?m disappointed is an understatement,? Stewart posted. ?I traveled to Brazil missed my sons 2nd birthday missed a holiday I paid for with my fiancee & son to show up and compete in Brazil. The entire situation stinks I put a lot of time and money into this fight won the fight and his mates at the Brazilian MMA commission overturned the decision. Fighting a Brazilian in Brazil is something that every fighter should think very strongly about had I lost and made an appeal to the Brazil commission I doubt it would be overturned because I?m not from Brazil. Let?s get the rematch on for London March 18th if they refuse the rematch it just stinks more.?
Stewart would also post a second message in the comments section of his Instagram post:
?Thank you everyone that supported me don't feel like speaking to anyone at the moment just wanna be left alone,? Stewart wrote.
Barroso has yet to respond to the challenge for a rematch, the March 18 event that Stewart referred to in his postings would be UFC Fight Night 108.
