Dave Allen To Face David Price On The Whyte vs. Rivas Undercard

Dave Allen will take on another heavyweight veteran as he continues his climb up the rankings.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced that Allen will take on former British and Commonwealth champion David Price on July 20 at the O2 in London.

Allen, a popular boxer in the United Kingdom, has been on a four-fight win streak with all four wins coming from inside the distance. The 27-year-old has faced a number of notable heavyweights, including Tony Yoka, Luis Ortiz and Dillian Whyte. Allen last fought on April 20 when he headlined a Matchroom Boxing card that was streamed on DAZN and knocked out former WBA titlist Lucas Browne in the third round.

Price has struggled in the last couple of years going up against strong competition. Price has won just three of his last six fights and was either stopped or knocked out in two of those losses. Price's last loss was in September 2018 when he had to retire due to a torn bicep. Since then, Price won his last two fights, but his most recent win against Kash Ali came with its fair share of controversy as Price picked up the victory by disqualification due to Ali biting him in the fifth round of their fight.

The fight will serve on the undercard of the Dillian Whyte vs. Oscar Rivas heavyweight matchup. The card is expected to be streamed on DAZN in the United States.
