Dave Allen Knocks Out Lucas Browne With Body Shot At The O2

Dave Allen moved one step closer to becoming a contender in boxing’s loaded heavyweight division with another impressive knockout win.

Allen knocked out former secondary world champion Lucas Browne in the main event of a Matchroom Boxing card from the O2 Arena in London, streamed on DAZN. Allen has now won his last four fights, all of which were by knockout or stoppage.

The pace of the fight was slow for most of the first two rounds but Allen landed some solid hits in that time. The end of the second round saw the action pick up with both men trading shots as the bell sounded. Allen then let his hands go in the third round and knocked out Browne less than a minute into the round with a devastating left hand to the body. Browne was unable to get back up, awarding Allen the victory.

The card featured a number of notable British boxers in action, including heavyweight Derek Chisora. Chisora got back to his winning ways by dominating Senad Gashi throughout 10 rounds to take a lopsided decision.

Also on the card was Josh Kelly retaining his WBA International welterweight title against Przemyslaw Runowski by unanimous decision. Kelly dropped Runowski a couple of times in the fight to improve his record to 9-0.

Joe Cordina had a big sixth round stoppage against Andy Townend to walk away with the BBBofC British and Commonwealth lightweight titles. Cordina dropped Townend three times in the sixth round before the referee put a stop to the fight with just seconds remaining in the round.
