DAZN Raising Monthly Rate To $19.99, Current Subscribers To Grandfathered In At $9.99 A Month

A big change is coming for DAZN and it will take effect on March 25, as the streaming service in raising their month rate to $19.99 a month. There is also going to be a yearly charge of $99.99 that users can pay up front, instead of paying the monthly fee.

DAZN North America EVP Joe Markowski says the changes were made to suit those who are currently watching DAZN and to those who are thinking about becoming future customers.

“First, the value seekers,” he said to Ring TV. “They’ve been surprised and I think delighted at the quality and volume of our content, at the price that it’s been made available, and as compared to the traditional pay per view landscape. We want to continue to serve those people. And then the second group, we call the flexibility seekers. They are motivated in this modern OTT world to have the ability to step away from a subscription, they don’t want to be wedded to a contract, as they’ve been asked to.”

Current subscribers will get grandfathered in with the $9.99 a month plan and that is going to remain that way for the next year.

Markowski says that they want to be transparent with their subscribers, as the price change has been in the plans for some time now.

“We want to be transparent, we’ve been planning this for awhile,” he said.

The streaming service is home to some of the biggest names in boxing, as well as MMA promotions like Bellator MMA and Combate Americas.
