Derek Brunson Says Paulo Costa On Steroids, Costa Responds

MMA

Paulo Costa kicked off last weekend’s UFC 217 main card and he earned a TKO victory over former UFC Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks.

Fellow middleweight Derek Brunson was watching Costa fight and then accused the fighter of being on steroids.

Brunson made those accusations against Costa via Twitter:

Upon learning what his fellow middleweight said of him, the Brazilian MMA star issued a response of his own.

“He’s crazy,” Costa said after the event. “He’s scared. He doesn’t want a fight against me. USADA tests everybody all the time. So Derek Brunson doesn’t want a fight against me, but I’m ready. It’s like Vitor Belfort, he doesn’t want a fight against me. (Or) Tim Boetsch. Please, Derek Brunson, don’t be scared.”

While Brunson may be on the radar of Costa, the same cannot be said of Brunson himself because he recently called out former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold.

According to the USADA website, the Brazilian fight has been tested a total of eight times by the government agency.
