Diaz Brothers Offered To Train Sage Northcutt

Sage Northcutt is preparing for a return to the lightweight division after a failed run as a welterweight, where he won just one of three fights. That three fight run at welterweight saw him earn a decision victory over Enrique Marin, while be submitted in both of his defeats to the duo of Bryan Barberena and Mickey Gall.

Northcutt may have himself some new training partners as he prepares for his return to lightweight.

“They (Nick & Nate Diaz) mentioned getting some training together in the future so we’ll see if that happens. They were just super nice guys so it was cool to meet them,” Northcutt said on The MMA Hour.

No matter who Northcutt trains with next, he knows he has holes in his game.

“I’m not taking my time and not being calm. I’m still trying to figure out being calm,” says Northcutt.

Northcutt has previously been training with current UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley, a move he made after dropping out of school for full time training. Northcutt currently holds a record of 8-2-0 as a professional MMA fighter, with his most notable wins coming over the likes of Francisco Trevino, Enrique Marin and Cody Pfister.
