Diego De La Hoya, Joet Gonzalez Fighting On Vargas vs. Kameda Undercard

Several of Golden Boy Promotions' top rising stars have been announced to fight on the undercard of the July 13 DAZN card from Carson, California.

In the co-main event of the show taking place at the Dignity Health Sports Park, Diego De La Hoya will take on former world title challenger Ronny Rios with the vacant WBA Gold super bantamweight title. The card will be headlined by the WBC super bantamweight title bout between Rey Vargas and Tomoki Kameda.

Unranked UFC Fighters to Watch out for in 2024

At only 24 years old, De La Hoya has emerged as a rising contender at 122 pounds, winning all 22 of his fights with one no contest. De La Hoya's last fight was that no contest against Enrique Bernache back in April. Rios sports a 2-2 record in his last four fights, including a fight against Vargas for the WBC title. Rios is coming off a fifth-round stoppage win against Daniel Olea on April 26.

Also announced for the card is unbeaten prospect Joet Gonzalez taking on once-beaten Manuel Avila for the WBO Global featherweight title. Gonzalez has won all 22 of his pro bouts and is coming off a fifth-round knockout win over Rodrigo Guerrero to retain the WBO NABO featherweight title on March 30. Avila last fought in March when he fought Jose Santos Gonzalez to a split draw.

As for the rest of the undercard, undefeated prospect and knockout artist Eduardo "Rocky" Hernandez will return to action in a 10-round super featherweight bout. It is the second fight in a multi-fight co-promotional deal between Golden Boy Promotions and Promociones del Pueblo.

Welterweight prospect Alexis Rocha will take on Berlin Abreu for the WBC Continental Americas title on the undercard. Three prospects that will also see action in separate bouts are Jousce Gonzalez, Jonathan Esquivel and Adrian Benton against opponents to be named at a later date.
