The first offer has been given to Dillian Whyte for a potential rematch against Anthony Joshua.
Whyte revealed to TalkSport that he was already offered a fight for Joshua's WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles, but that the offer was what he considered to be "utterly ridiculous." Whyte is coming off a victory over Dereck Chisora in the main event of a boxing card in London this past December.
"There's been a first offer, but it's utterly ridiculous. It's way less than what I made against Chisora. It's a ridiculous offer. I think they're not serious about the fight. I don't think they want to fight. They just made an offer to cover the grounds so they can say, 'Okay we made an offer,'" Whyte said.
The 30-year-old Whyte has been on a nine-fight win streak since losing to Joshua when the pair fought in 2015 for the WBC International, Commonwealth, and British heavyweight titles. Joshua knocked out Whyte in the seventh round of their matchup and Joshua has gone on to win numerous world titles as Whyte worked his way up to being a top contender.
Whyte has also headlined numerous pay-per-view shows in the United Kingdom and believes that his status as a top draw warrants a bigger offer than Joseph Parker, the former WBO champion who lost to Joshua in a unification fight in March 2018.
"It's just silly. I'm a pay-per-view fighter in the UK, which I built by myself against the odds. It's not like I'm a journeyman. I worked my way up to the No. 1 contender in two governing bodies. I've had nine fights since I fought him and I won them all in spectacular fashion. I think he just needs to take that into consideration and realize I bring more to the table than what Joseph Parker brought when he was a world champion," Whyte said.
Ultimately, Whyte thinks that Joshua is not that interested in fighting him, adding that Joshua might look towards easier fights next.
"I don't think he wants to fight me. There's easier paydays out there and he knows I'll bring problems to his mom's house. So I don't think he wants it," Whyte said.
Joshua is currently scheduled to defend his unified titles at Wembley Stadium on April 13 as part of a two-fight deal with the venue. The first fight took place in September when he knocked out mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.
