Dillon Danis Wants To Fight Sage Northcutt In UFC Debut

MMA

Dillon Danis is one of the most popular Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioners in the world right now and in 2017, he is expected to transition to MMA. However, despite the fact he has yet to make his debut, Danis isn’t only predicting he will make it in the UFC, but has an opponent in mind in Sage Northcutt.

“That would be an easy fight,” Danis said on The MMA Hour. “Just to get in there. That would be a good, easy one to just get out of the way. Beat someone that has a decent name. I honestly think I can go my first fight in the UFC, and I think I would dominate. I say that 100 percent being fact. I’m not a stupid person and I know what I’m capable of. I know who I’ve trained with, and I know what I’ve seen.”

Danis did help UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor prepare for his second fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 202, something that has lead to a little heat between Diaz and Danis.

“That means nothing,” Danis said. “It doesn’t mean anything. I’ve always respected Nate. I think Nate is an awesome fighter. But when he called me out, that’s when we have a problem.”

Danis may make his debut in early 2017 in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships promotion out of New Jersey, but nothing is set in stone as of yet.
