Dominick Reyes Claims The NFL Has Shunned Him

MMA

Dominick Reyes made his UFC debut by defeating Joachim Christensen by TKO at UFC Fight Night: Oklahoma City.

While the UFC has seemingly embraced its newest fighter, the undefeated Reyes claims he was shunned by the National Football League (NFL).

?Perfect debut right there; coming out, first-round knockout against a guy who has never been finished,? Reyes told MMA Junkie. ?It?s definitely a dream come true big time. Not only as a fighter ? but as an athlete period. I was kind of shunned by the NFL, and now I?m a legitimate athlete in the world of sports. It means a lot to me.?

Reyes is just one of many former professional and collegiate football players who have made the transition to MMA over the decades.

The fighter also knows the fans love a knockout artist and he plans on giving those fans more knockouts to enjoy.

?Everyone likes to see a knockout artist,? Reyes said. ?Not just a knockout artist, but someone who has precision and skill with it. I didn?t just wing it. It was a laser right down the middle, and that?s something that can be respected no matter who you are.?

Not only did Reyes get the knockout win this past Sunday Night, but he got the quickest finish at the night because his fight lasted all of 29 seconds.
