Dustin Poirier and Jim Miller engaged in a “Fight Of The Night” battle at UFC 208, Poirier walked out victorious via decision.
Poirier was noticeably limping during the third round and even had trouble standing up after the final bell sounded. Poirier also needed to be helped up to stand in the center of the Octagon when Bruce Buffer read the scorecards for the judge’s decision.
After Poirier was taken backstage, there was concern that the fighter had suffered a broken leg or some kind of other serious leg injury.
According to a post by Poirier on Twitter, there isn’t much to be worried about:
I'm ok no broken bones. Just a lot of pain and swelling https://t.co/rO2QZJNMN1— The Diamond (@DustinPoirier) February 13, 2017
