Eddie Hearn Hoping To Make Several Heavyweight Fights For April 20 Card

With Dillian Whyte out of the running for a potential shot at Anthony Joshua's unified heavyweight titles, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is looking to surround Whyte's return bout with numerous big fights within the division.

Hearn was recently interviewed by Boxing Social and said he plans to make an upcoming boxing card at the O2 Arena on April 20 a big heavyweight night headlined by Whyte's return. Among those fights being considered for the undercard are former world champion Joseph Parker and contenders Michael Hunter and Dereck Chisora.

A fight between David Allen and Lucas Browne is likely to take place on the card as the two had already agreed to fighting each other with Hearn announcing the fight would take place in April without specifying on which card would the fight take place. Another heavyweight fight under consideration is one between rising contender Michael Hunter and former title challenger Carlos Takam.

Chisora, who is coming off a knockout loss to Whyte in December, would likely face Parker, a former WBO heavyweight champion who lost two of his three fights in 2018.

Although no opponent has been set for Whyte, a number of options are currently being explored. Whyte mentioned names such as Dominic Breazeale, Luis Ortiz and Alexander Povetkin as potential opponents for him, but stated that his personal preference in opponent would be to face Breazeale in the hopes of getting a WBC heavyweight title eliminator against him.
