Eddie Hearn Wants To Make A New Boxing Video Game To Rival EA Sports Fight Night

Eddie Hearn wants a new boxing video game, if it means making one himself.

During a Q&A on Instagram Live, the British promoter, who has previously displayed interest in a new boxing game being made, said EA Sports, the creator of the Fight Night Series, are not interested in making a new game.

"Do you know what? EA Sports don't really seem interested in boxing and Fight Night. So should I just do one myself? The one and only big K, you and me will start our own game, our own rival game to EA Sports Fight Night. Me and the one and only big K, prince Khalid [bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia]. We will do it. Let's get it sorted. Right, I'm going to release a new boxing game, f*ck it. Let's do it," Hearn said.

The last Fight Night game made was Fight Night Champions made back in 2011 and since then, only a handful of boxing video games were released. With boxing as a whole currently being on hold, the World Boxing Super Series is turning to video games for more content, creating the eWBSS with simulations being done on Fight Night Champion used to create fantasy matchups.

Hearn's Matchroom Boxing is currently not holding any events for the next couple of months due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. Fights whose dates had to be changed included Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev, Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano and more.
