Emily Ducote Granted Permission To Fight Outside Of Bellator MMA

Emily Ducote is back in action early next month at Xtreme Fight Night 356 against an opponent to be announced.

With Ducote still under contract to Bellator MMA, one thing she needed before accepting the fight was permission from the promotion to compete at XFN 356.

“I’m still under contract with Bellator,” Ducote told MMA Junkie. “But since they only have the 125 division right now they’re letting me fighting 115 outside so I can stay busy and fight in my real weigh class.”

Ducote is going to be back in action for the first time in over six month, as her last bout took place at Bellator 202 in July of 2018.

The fighter wants to compete in Bellator MMA again, but wants the promotion to start a women’s strawweight division first.

“115 is my real division and much better for me,” Ducote said. “But the opportunity came up to fight for (Bellator) and of course I wasn’t going to turn that down. I enjoyed my eight fights for them but 115 is where I really should be. Hopefully they open that up.”

Xtreme Fight Night 356 takes place on Friday, February 1 from the River Spirit Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Jimmy Flick and Ray Rodriguez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
