The co-main event is set for the forthcoming Bellator 198 card and it is going to be a featherweight division encounter as Emmanuel Sanchez faces Sam Sicilia.
Sanchez (16-3-0) enters the contest riding a three bout winning streak, last defeating Daniel Straus by third round submission at Bellator 184. Sanchez has only suffered two defeats under the Bellator MMA banner, with one of them coming to former Bellator MMA Featherweight Champion Pat Curran at Bellator 139. Sanchez hasn?t suffered a defeat in almost two years, with that last defeat coming to Daniel Weichel at Bellator 159.
Sicilia (16-8-0) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition, having defeated Marcos Galvao by unanimous decision at Bellator 189 last year. Sicilia won five of twelve bouts during his UFC tenure, but exited the promotion while in the midst of a three fight losing streak. Sicilia also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 15, losing in the second round of the reality show to Chris Saunders.
Bellator 198 takes place on Saturday, April 28 from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois with Frank Mir and Fedor Emelianenko headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
