Errol Spence On Wanting To Fight Canelo Alvarez and Keith Thurman

Newly crowned IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. would be willing to have a fight with Canelo Alvarez, should the former middleweight world champion be willing to move back down to light middleweight.

In an interview with Sports Day, Spence said he would consider Alvarez the biggest fight of his career, although Alvarez is currently busy with his September 16 megafight with unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

"Right now, yeah that would be the biggest fight but since he's at 160, I don't see that happening. But if he was able to come down to 154, I would definitely move up," Spence said.

In terms of what would realistically be the biggest fight Spence wants, the IBF champion turned his sights to unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman, who will be out of action for the remainder of 2017 due to elbow surgery. Although Spence said the Thurman fight is the one he's trying to get, Spence said his last fight against Kell Brook was tougher.

"I want Keith Thurman," Spence said. "I think it would be a great fight. That's the fight everybody wants to see. Two hard punchers, two guys who are willing to fight, it would be an electrifying fight. That's the big time fight that everybody wants to see and I'm willing to fight him. I think Kell Brook is bigger, he's stronger, has more skills than Keith Thurman."

Spence won the title off of Brook when he knocked Brook out on May 27, his first world title win.
