Exclusive: Don't Expect Joanna Jedrzejczyk To Follow Ronda Rousey To Pro Wrestling

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is looking to climb her way back up to the championship that she helped establish, but has Tecia Torres in her way this Saturday in Calgary.

Once a dominant champion, Jedrzejczyk seemed poised to break Ronda Ronda Rousey Might Not Be Messing Around, You GuysRousey's record of six straight successful title defenses for a female in the UFC. It didn't end up happening, but judging by Jedrzejczyk's comments to Fightful.com's James Lynch, it seems it was a friendly aspiration.

"I'm happy for Ronda, I'm so excited. When I see her smiling, and how happy she is after she got married to Travis (Browne), I'm just so excited for her. I keep in touch with her, we text back and forth once in a while. We work together with the same agent. We are in touch," said Jedrzejczyk.

Despite her friendship with Rousey, Joanna doesn't seem like she's going to make the jump from MMA to the world of sports entertainment in the same way that Rousey has with WWE this year. According to Joanna, she's much more interested in starting a family and being around to raise her future children whenever the day comes that she decides to call it quits.

"It was not (aired where she lived), but it's so popular. I'll see, but I'm very homesick. I've been traveling since 2006. It's been a while, I've been in this business for 15 years, and when I finish fighting I want to be a mother and have a family. Now it's time to be the greatest athlete on the planet, I want to give as much as I can and get as much as I can right now," said Joanna.

In the full interview with James Lynch, Jedrzejczyk talks her UFC goals, her fight with Tecia Torres and more.
