Brandon Girtz is headlining the upcoming Bellator 219 card, facing Saad Awad in a lightweight division encounter.

If there is one thing that Girtz can accurately predict for Bellator 219, it would be that the main event is going to be full of fireworks.

“Like I said, we’re both fighters that like to come to fight. I feel like the match up is…there’s going to be fireworks, I don’t see how there can’t be,” says Girtz in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Girtz and Awad have a total of 28 finishes between them, making the fireworks promised by Girtz that much better.

The lightweight contender believes a win over Awad will put him right back into title contention.

“Absolutely, we’re at the top of that (lightweight division). I know I got to work myself back up into that spot, but a few good performance here and I’m right back in there. I don’t see anyone else out there challenging (Michael) Chandler right now (like) the challenge that I’ll give him,” says Girtz.

Bellator 219 takes place on Friday, March 29 from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California with Brandon Girtz and Saad Awad headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
