Despite having fought just 14 times as a pro boxer, Arnold Khegai is looking at world title opportunities in 2019.
Khegai, a Korean fighter born in Ukraine, turned to pro boxing full-time after a successful Thai boxing career and is already achieved success in the paid ranks. Sporting a 13-0-1 record and a spot as the No. 9 and 13 super bantamweight in the WBO and IBF rankings, Khegai is set to fight on November 16 on a ShoBox: The Next Generation card on his journey to fight for a world title.
In an exclusive interview with Fightful, Khegai spoke on his goals for 2019 and said he feels ready to fight for a title in his next fight after November 16. Khegai, who signed with Salita Promotions earlier this year, said he will follow what his promoter suggests but said he is confident in beating all of the world champions.
?I would love to fight for a world title next and my promoter and Salita Promotions have done a great job keeping me busy and progressing me and it?s up to them to choose my next opponent and whatever direction to go. I will follow their lead and I?m ready to fight the best in the world whenever that is possible. Believe it or not, I?m ready and willing to fight all the four champions. One at a time, line them up. It?s up to them to start a fight,? Khegai said via a translator.
Khegai's fight will be part of a televised card that includes fights between Jaron Ennis vs. Raymond Serrano and Kenneth Sims Jr. vs. Samuel Teah.
