Exclusive: Henry Cejudo: "I Can Do Anything Rey Mysterio Can Do"; Recalls WWE Talks

Back to his winning ways and fully healthy, Cejudo said he's glad to finally fight Sergio Pettis.

Cejudo spoke to Fightful's James Lynch ahead of Cejudo's UFC 218 fight against Sergio Pettis. The two were actually supposed to have fought back in May, but an injury to Cejudo forced the bout to be pulled from the UFC 211 card. Cejudo said he was a bit surprised to hear that Pettis still wanted the fight.

"It was a long time waiting. We were supposed to fight in May. He asked for this fight at the beginning and I was surprised due to the matchup and the styles. As soon as I fought Wilson Reis, I said, 'Hey let's rewind a bit man and let's do it.' He wanted December 2 and I gave him," Cejudo said.

In addition to his mixed martial arts future, Cejudo also discussed his potential pro wrestling future. Cejudo, a former Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, attracted the eyes of WWE and Cejudo admitted that he had talks with the company before ultimately electing to continue his MMA career.

"There were talks. I had talks with one of the agents. They were going to fly me out to Orlando to do a tryout. I can do pretty much anything Rey Mysterio can do. Just give me the proper coaching and you'll see me doing triple backflips. I'm a pretty fearless human being so it's either that or fighting, but fighting has always been on my mind. I just decided at the end of the day that fighting is what I wanted to do," Cejudo said.

Despite Cejudo saying he used to be a long time fan of Bret Hart and Rey Mysterio, Cejudo said he doesn't think he sees himself wrestling for WWE anytime in the future. UFC 218 takes place on December 2 and Fightful will have live coverage of both of those events. Cejudo's interview with Lynch can be seen in the video above.
