Exclusive: Ivelisse Talks Issues With Lucha Underground, Considering MMA Career

Ivelisse has joined a class action lawsuit against Lucha Undergrounds, as reported earlier tonight.

Joining Kobra Moon, King Cuerno and Joey Ryan, the LU standout is unable to get out of her contract after many said they were promised their releases after season four. Ivelisse made headlines weeks ago in a since-deleted tweet about the situation. When speaking to Fightful for an exclusive interview, Ivelisse opened up about it.

"I didn't really want to (post that), and when I was able to find a different approach to my situation, I let that die down a little bit. It was a very out of desperation sort of thing. I can confirm on my side of thing it's crickets (on season 5). It's sad. When it comes to my situation, I'm hopeful it will resolve rather soon. Who knows, maybe MMA is something I'll explore soon," said Ivelisse.

Velez confirmed to me that she made an attempt to juggle both pro wrestling and MMA in the past, but she ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration. Meanwhile, her Lucha Underground bookings have dried up as well, and she told us that despite the issues, she remains under contract.

"I'm not too sure if I can comment on that, but obviously since it's not been announced by that either party, one can assume I'm still dealing with that," said Ivelisse.

Hours after our interview, Ivelisse would join the class action lawsuit.

You can see Ivelisse take on NWA World Women's Champion Jazz at Ladies Night Out 5, which takes place February 23 from the World Gym Arena in Texas City, Texas. You can get tickets at their website, and can stream the entire event live and on demand at Title Match Wrestling Network.
