Exclusive: UFC 230's Jason Knight Reveals Length Of His UFC Contract

MMA

Jason Knight steps foot in the Octagon once again at UFC 230, facing Jordan Rinaldi in a featherweight division encounter.

The featherweight prospect recently made a change to some training habits and has been going out to California to train at Team Alpha Male.

?Its exciting, there are a lot over very high level guys That I don?t get to train with everyday. At my gym, we have some high level guys and we have a lot of guys who are getting real close to that high level, but I don?t have nearly the bodies that I have at Urijah Faber?s gym. They have a lot of world class coaches, a lot of world class wrestlers. That?s something that we have missing down in Mississippi, we have no wrestlers whatsoever and how much better can my wrestling get if I don?t have any real wrestlers to wrestle with me. I?m out here and I feel like I?m improving everyday, my body is sore as hell?so I know I?m getting in the work that I need. My cardio gets better everyday and I just feel like I?m fittin? to go into this fight like a brand new monster,? says Knight in an exclusive interview with Fightful?s James Lynch.

Knight could be facing a must win situation at UFC 230, as the fighter enters the contest in the midst of a three bout losing streak.

If there is one bout Knight would like to have after signing a new four fight deal with the UFC, it would be against Makwan Amirkhani.

?Nah man, I just signed a four fight contract right before that fight. So I knew that I at least had a few more (fights)?I?m exciting, the only true loss that I feel that I?ve had since (Tatsuya) Kawajiri was Ricardo Lamas. The Gabriel Benitez fight, yeah he beat me?he beat me, I had strep throat and I should?ve backed out of the fight. So what, he beat me?I?ll give him that one. But the f*cking Makwan Amirkhani fight, I should?ve got my hand raised. I?m gonna ask for that fight every chance I get and hopefully the little pussy will fight me one day, if not, then hopefully I catch him at a bar one day so I can beat him up there or something. That grudge is not over, I wanna get back in there and knock him out like I should?ve done in the first fight,? says Knight.

UFC 230 takes place on Saturday, November 3 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
