One of the most talked about aspects of the professional MMA world is fighter pay, which neither fighter or promotion ever seems entirely happy about.
UFC President Dana White recently held a Q&A on Twitter and a fan had asked him about fighter pay, which would lead to White calling the fan ?a dick? during the following exchange (via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting):
Fan: ?Why are you so cheap and pay fighters less than what they should be paid??
White: ?First of all, you?re a dick. Let?s start there. And you don?t know what fighters get paid. Everybody wants more money. Everybody needs more money. That?s always going to be an issue.?
Fighter pay was the center of the rise of fighter unions in recent years, but those unions had little to absolutely no effect in changing how fighter pay was handled by the UFC or any other promotion.
It should be noted that while the UFC and other promotions will publicly disclose fighter payouts, such things as discretionary bonuses and other types of additional payouts awarded to fighters are not revealed to the general public.
