- After Raymundo Beltran missed weight for his IBF lightweight title challenge against Richard Commey, the two fighters had the second-day weigh-in that is mandated in all IBF title bouts. Commey came in at 142.8 pounds (within the 10-pound range above the 135-pound lightweight limit permitted at the second-day weigh-in) and Beltran was at 145.6 pounds. As it stands, Commey can't lose his title when the two boxers meet in the ring in the main event of a Top Rank on ESPN card tonight.

- Lee Baxter Promotions and Eastlink announced that the June 29 bout between Custio Clayton and Johan Perez for the WBO International welterweight title will be televised on Eastlink Community TV in Atlantic Canada.
- WBC middleweight titleholder Jermall Charlo threw out the first pitch before a Houston Astros game on June 27. Charlo will face Brandon Adams in the main event of a Showtime-televised card in Houston on June 29.
