Fight-size Boxing Update: Eddie Hearn Raps, Crolla vs. Burns Undercard, Shawn Porter, Mayweather vs. McGregor iPPV Option

Here is your Fight-Size Wrestling Update for August 8!

- The top Anthony Crolla vs. Ricky Burns undercard matches were announced today by promoter Eddie Hearn, with several top British stars competing, making this card one of the biggest British boxing cards in the second half of 2017. Just announced for the card, which takes place October 7 are the following matches:

  • Sam Eggington (c) vs. Mohamed Mimoune: European welterweight title bout
  • Robbie Barrett (c) vs. Lewis Ritson: BBBofC British lightweight title
  • 2016 Olympic boxer Josh Smith versus against an opponent to be determined.
  • Joshua Buatsi, who won the bronze medal in the light heavyweight division at the 2016 Olympics, will have his second fight on the card against an opponent to be determined.

- Speaking of Hearn, he has been challenged by WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to try and make the heavyweight unification bout between Wilder and Anthony Joshua a reality. In response, Hearn rapped to Wilder in the video above, which is pretty funny.

- Former world champions Shawn Porter and Layla McCarter were chosen as Nevada Men’s and Women’s Pro Boxers of the Year and will be honored by the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame at a gala induction ceremony on August 12 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

- Showtime announced that they will have online pay-per-view streaming for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing card, which adds yet another option for fans to watch the fight aside from the conventional pay-per-view methods, UFC.tv and movie theater screenings.
