* Felix Verdejo is expected to be released from the hospital in the next few days following the motorcycle accident he was involved in last week, which he escaped with only minor injuries. He was in line for a world title shot against Terry Flangan.

* Canadian promoter Yvon Michel recently announced that four fighters he represents, all based in Montreal and all among the best fighters in their respective divisions, have enrolled in the WBC's Clean Boxing Program. WBC light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson, as well as light heavyweight contenders Eleider Alvarez and Artur Beterbiev and former super middleweight world titleholder Lucian Bute, will participate in the program, which is run by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association on behalf of the WBC. Their enrollment means they can be randomly drug tested, whether it would blood and/or urine testing, at any time 365 days a year. They must be available at all times for any testing.

* Middleweight contender Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18 KO) appears headed to a defense of his British title against Tommy Langford (17-0, 6 KO) after promoter Frank Warren, who represents Langford, won a purse bid for the bout recently. The date and venue are to be determined, Warren said.

* It was announced on August 10 that featherweight prospect Joseph Diaz (21-0, 12 KO) and middleweight contender Jason Quigley (11-0, 9 KO) will fight on the Canelo Alvarez vs Liam Smith undercard at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on September 10.
