The war of words between Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman is over as Usman stopped Covington in the final round of their UFC Welterweight Title fight at UFC 245.
The two welterweights stood and traded heavy shots for over 24 minutes and in the final minute of the main event, Usman landed the shots he needed. He dropped Covington twice in the final moments of the fight and forced the referee to jump in as he hammered Covington on the ground to retain the title. Covington stated that he suffered a broken jaw in the third round of the fight. The fight was very competitive heading into the final minute with one judge having it 3-1 Usman, another seeing it 3-1 Covington, and the final judge having it 2-2 after four.
