A middleweight division attraction has been added to the UFC Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale as Elias Theodorou takes on Brad Tavares. Flo Combat first reported the news.
Theodorou (13-1-0) has won five of six fights under the UFC banner and will enter this fight on a two fight winning streak. Theodorou was the middleweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Nations, defeating Sheldon Westcott in the reality show finals. Theodorou will be returning to a TUF Finale card for the first time in three years, with his last appearance being at the aforementioned TUF Nations Finale.
Tavares (14-4-0) has won two of his last five in UFC competition, with those two victories coming over Nate Marquardt and Caio Magalhaes. Tavares has suffered a total of four losses and they all came under the UFC banner, the last of his defeats came to Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night 65. Tavares only competed one time last year, which was the least amount of times he competed in a single year since 2009.
UFC Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale takes place on Friday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event.
