Floyd Mayweather Says Conor McGregor Could Be Fined Big Time For Illegal Head Kick

Floyd Mayweather is less that two weeks away from taking on UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in a boxing super fight.

If McGregor were to use illegal tactics in the super fight, such as a head kick, then the MMA champion could get a huge fine.

“That’s a fine, that’s a huge fine,” Mayweather said on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I don’t think he’d want to lose, probably 90 percent of his money or even more. I don’t know what it’s gonna be, but it’s gonna be a heavy fine.”

The boxing match is going to be held under normal boxing rules, so any strikes that are MMA related outside of punching would obviously be against the rules.

Mayweather also wants to wait until after the fight ends to talk about a future rematch or of a professional MMA debut.

“As of right now, we gotta get past August 26,” Mayweather said. “Once we get past August 26, then we can talk about other things.”

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
