Former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos (#4 LW) will be making his welterweight division at UFC Fight Night 111 and he will be taking on #10 Tarec Saffiedine.
Dos Anjos (25-9-0) will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson. Dos Anjos won the UFC Lightweight Title when he defeated Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision at UFC 185. Dos Anjos hasn’t won a fight in nearly two years, as his last victory came over Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC On Fox 17.
Saffiedine (16-6-0) has won just two of his five fights under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over Jake Ellenberger and Hyun Gyu Lim. Saffiedine will actually be entering the fight on a two fight losing streak, with those losses coming to Rick Story and Dong Hyun Kim. Saffiedine was also the final Strikeforce Welterweight Champion, defeating fellow UFC fighter Nate Marquardt to win the gold in January 2013.
UFC Fight Night 111 takes place on Saturday, June 17 from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore with no main event announced at this time. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
