A middleweight division attraction is the latest addition to next months UFC 209 card as Rashad Evans will be taking on Daniel Kelly.
Evans (19-5-1) will be making his middleweight division debut in this fight and will be doing so while riding a two fight losing streak. Evans is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, as he defeated Forrest Griffin at UFC 92 in December 2008 to win the championship. It has been well over three years since the last time that Evans won a fight, which came over Chael Sonnen at UFC 167.
Kelly (12-1-0) has won five of six fights under the UFC banner, with some notable wins coming over Antonio Carlos Jr. and Chris Camozzi. Kelly has only suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter, which came by knockout to Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night 65 in May 2015. Kelly once took a six year break from MMA competition and he won his professional MMA debut in 2006 after he threw an opponent out of the ring. The opponent couldn’t continue the fight.
UFC 209 takes place on Saturday, March 4 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson headlining.
