A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 105 card as #3 Carla Esparza takes on Randa Markos.
Esparza (11-3-0) is the first ever UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, she defeated Rose Namajunas at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale to become champion. Esparza was also the first ever Invicta Fighting Championships Strawweight Champion, she defeated fellow UFC veteran Bec Rawlings to win the title at Invicta FC IV. Esparza has also won six of her last seven fights and she has only suffered a single defeat in the last five years.
Markos (6-4-0) has won two of five fights under the UFC banner, defeating Aisling Daly and Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger, while suffering defeats to Jessica Penne, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Cortney Casey. Markos is a former Provincial Fighting Championships Women’s Strawweight Champion, she defeated Lynnell House to win the title in 2014. Markos hasn’t put a winning streak together in over three years and that winning streak lasted for a total of three fights.
UFC Fight Night 105 takes place on Sunday, February 19 from the Scotiabank Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with Junior Dos Santos and Stefan Struve headlining, the main card will air on Fox Sports 1.
A middleweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night 107 card as Tom Breese is in action against Oluwale Bamgbose.
Breese (12-1-0) will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came at the hands of Sean Strickland at UFC 199. Breese has also earned a grand total of three wins under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Luiz Besoro, Cathal Pendred and Keita Nakamura. Breese is also a former BAMMA Middleweight Champion, he defeated Warren Kee to win the championship in 2012, but relinquished the title after signing with the UFC.
Bamgbose (6-2-0) has earned just one of three victories under the UFC banner, defeating Daniel Sarafian, while suffering defeats to Cezar Ferreira and Uriah Hall. Bamgbose is a former Ring Of Combat Middleweight Champion, Devon Morris in 2015 and relinquished it upon signing with the UFC in the same year. Bamgobose has only seen one of his eight professional MMA fights go to the judge’s scorecards, that fight was a decision loss to Cezar Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 87.
UFC Fight Night 107 takes place on Saturday, March 18 from the 02 Arena in London, England with no main event announced at this time.
A bantamweight division attraction has been added to next month’s UFC Fight Night 104 card and it will be pitting Ricardo Lucas Ramos up against Michinori Tanaka.
Ramos (9-1-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Legacy Fighting Championships promotion, where he defeated Justin Rader and Cody Walker, while suffering a defeat to Manny Vazquez. Ramos has only seen just one of his ten professional MMA fights go to the judge’s scorecards, that fight was a unanimous decision win over Allan Nascimento at Elite FC 5 in 2013. Ramos also appeared on the reality show Dana White “Lookin’ For A Fight” and that is how he eventually got a deal with the UFC.
Tanaka (11-2-0) has won two of four fights under the UFC banner, defeating Roland Delorme and Joe Soto, while suffering defeats to Kyung Ho Kang and Rani Yahya. Tanaka previously fought a UFC veteran before signing with the promotion in 2014, that was a win over UFC veteran Russell Doane at Pacific Xtreme Combat 34 in 2012. Tanaka started of his professional MMA career on a ten fight undefeated streak, an undefeated streak that lasted a total of four years.
UFC Fight Night 104 takes place on Saturday, February 4 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Dennis Bermudez and Chan Sung Jung headlining.
