Four Title Fights Added To Titan FC 42

The final Titan Fighting Championships event of 2016 will be loaded with four title fights on the bill. Dhiego Lima will defend the welterweight title against Jason Jackson, Jose Torres defend the flyweight title against Pedro Nobre, Andrew Whitney will face Farkhad Sharipov for the vacant bantamweight title and Jack May faces Volkan Oezdemir for the vacant heavyweight title.

Lima (12-4-0) will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating fellow UFC veteran David Michaud at Titan FC 39. Lima won one of four fights during his UFC tenure, defeating Jorge Cezar Antonio De Oliveira, while suffering defeats to Eddie Gordon, Tim Means and Jingliang Li.

Jackson (6-2-0) is currently undefeated thus far in Titan FC competition, defeating Rodrigo Cavalheiro Correia at Titan FC 41. Jackson’s two losses he has suffered thus far in his career came to a pair of UFC veterans in Colby Covington and Hayder Hassan.

Torres (3-0-0) will be making the first defense of his title, which he earned by defeating Abdiel Velasquez by knockout at Titan FC 40. Torres will be fighting for the fourth time this year, he made his professional MMA debut at Titan FC 37 in March 2016.

Nobre (18-2-2-1NC) has won three of four fights thus far in Titan FC, defeating the trio of Dan O’Connor, Sid Bice and Nick Honstein. Nobre will be challenging for the flyweight title for the second time in Titan FC, he lost his first chance to a fellow UFC veteran in Tim Elliot at Titan FC 37.

Whitney (14-4-0) is currently undefeated in his third run with the promotion, defeating William Joplin, Cory Tait and Anderson Dos Santos. Whitney’s first five fights as a pro ended in the first round, he did not go past the first round until a year after he turned pro.

Sharipov (16-7-0) is currently undefeated thus far in Titan FC competition, having defeated Bruce Lutchmedial at Titan FC 40. Sharipov previously challenged for the Xtreme Fighting Championships Featherweight Title in 2015, he fell short in that quest.

May (8-3-0) is currently winless thus far in Titan Fighting Championships, dropping a fight to Chase Gormley at Titan FC 38. May also fought twice under the UFC banner, dropping fights to both Derrick Lewis and Shawn Jordan.

Oezdemir (12-1-0) will be making his promotional debut in this fight and he has only competed once in the last two years. Oezdemir has seen 10 of his 12 victories come by way of a first round finish and he will enter the fight on a two fight winning streak.

Titan Fighting Championships 42 takes place on December 2nd from a location to be announced with Dhiego Lima and Jason Jackson in the main event.
