Manny Pacquiao will not be the only attraction when he fights at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on November 5. Three other world titles will be on the line as the undercard of that pay-per-view.
Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said that she is going to announce the undercard on September 27. It had been rumored that this supercard would include several world title fights on the pay-per-view broadcast. Arum told ESPN that the sport's global appeal and champions need to be showcased and is exciting to be booking these fights.
"We were bound and determined to make this the best overall boxing card of the year, and four world title fights on it with fighters from all over the word does just that," Arum said. "We think boxing is a great sport and it has global ramifications, and we will have fighters from the United States, from Mexico, from China, the Philippines and Japan. I love that. It's like I'm promoting fights in the United Nations."
The pay-per-view card is looking like this:
Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas (c): WBO and Lineal Welterweight Title Fight
Nonito Donaire (c) vs. Jessie Magdaleno: WBO Super Bantamweight Title Fight
Oscar Valdez (c) vs. Hiroshige Osawa: WBO Featherweight Title Fight
Zou Shiming vs. Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym: Vacant WBO Flyweight Title Fight
Pacquiao is ending his brief retirement from the ring after his April 9 victory against Timothy Bradley. The fight against Pacquiao is Vargas' first defense as the WBO welterweight champion.
