Frankie Edgar Wants To Stay On UFC 222 Card

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar was supposed to challenge UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway for the strap at UFC 222, but Holloway would pull out of the contest due to injury.

Despite losing his title shot, a focused Edgar would still like to compete on the UFC 222 card.

Edgar made his plans known through a post on Instagram:

Mark Henry is Edgar’s coach and he also took to Instagram to explain that the former lightweight champion is still training for a bout at UFC 222:

The duo were supposed to meet the first time at UFC 218 this past December, but it was Edgar who pulled out of that bout due to injury.

UFC 222 takes place on Saturday, March 3 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
