Premier Boxing Champions will return to Fox Sports 1 with a boxing card that will serve as the lead-in for a PBC on Fox card.
Fox Sports 1 will air a prelim card starting at 6:30 p.m. ET before the March 9 PBC on Fox card from Carson, California. On the prelim card, Damien Vazquez faces former world champion Juan Carlos Payano and 2016 Lithuanian Olympian Eimantas Stanionis takes on Sammy Figueroa.
Vazquez is a 21-year-old fighter who has won all 14 of his pro bouts since making his debut in 2013. Vazquez is coming off a 10-round unanimous decision win over Luis Golindano to win the WBC Youth World super flyweight title in April 2018.
Payano is a former WBA bantamweight champion who has held the belt from 2014 to 2016. After a three-fight win streak, Payano entered the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament, but was knocked out by Naoya Inoue less than 90 seconds into their quarterfinal bout last year.
Stanionis was a highly-decorated amateur who has won the gold medal in the 2015 European Championships as a welterweight. After making his pro debut in 2017, Stanionis has won all seven of his fights. Figueroa will be fighting for the first time since March 2017 and currently has an 11-1 pro record.
The main event of the PBC on Fox card taking place after the FS1 portion of the card is Shawn Porter vs. Yordenis Ugas for the WBC welterweight title. Porter recently spoke to Fightful and the full interview can be seen at this link.
