Gegard Mousasi doesn't think much of Conor McGregor.
The MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani asked Mousasi about the reports McGregor threatened him with a knife. The actual encounter happened over direct message and seems to be innocuous.
"That ginger-headed fuck is retarded. In the interview I mentioned, they were talking about respect or whatever, and then he texted me on Twitter. I said, ‘what're you going to do with your 50 kilos?' And then he was, I don't know, he was philosophical or whatever the fuck he was writing, he was like, ‘a knife is lighter than a pound, it can cut (from) ear-to-ear,' whatever the fuck he was writing,” said Mousasi.
Even though Mousasi does not think he was being literally threatened, he was still critical of McGregor. He accused McGregor of being the stereotypical keyboard warrior.
"That guy is a bum. He's a 60 kilo guy, what the fuck is he going to do? I bet if he's face-to-face, he's not going to say that. But you know, Twitter gives some people courage," said Mousasi.
Mousasi is coming off a victory against Vitor Belfort at UFC 204. Now Mousasi sits at number five in the official UFC middleweight rankings. The men ranked higher than him besides the champion are all scheduled to fight in November. Luke Rockhold faces Jacare Souza in Melbourne, Australia November 27th. Chris Weidman fights Yoel Romero at Madison Square Garden as part of UFC 205.
