Germaine De Randamie is just a few short days away from the opportunity to make MMA history when she faces Holly Holm for the right to be called the first ever UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.

The consensus #1 female featherweight in the world right now is the potentially suspended Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, but De Randamie isn’t concerned with Cyborg at this point in time.

Unranked UFC Fighters to Watch out for in 2024

“Cris got the offer to fight Holly, Cris got the offer to fight me, and she wasn’t able to,” de Randamie said to MMA Junkie. “If you’re a champion, you fight against everybody. Holly and I are going to fight, and one of us will decide who is the next No. 1. If one of us has to defend the title against Cris ‘Cyborg,’ it will be Cris ‘Cyborg’ who we defend the title against. (Holly and I are) going to fight, and no matter what people think, one of us will be the 145 champion. I think if you look at Holly’s credentials and my credentials, we’ve both accomplished a lot in the sport. We absolutely belong at the top.”

De Randamie is wide known as one of the best female kickboxers and muay thai fighters in the world right now. Despite those credentials, De Randamie believes winning UFC gold will solidify her status in the combat sports world.

“Winning a UFC belt will solidify (my career). In the past a lot of people have told me I couldn’t do it. I’m a believer that you can do anything you want in life. I want to win, and I want to solidify my career,” says De Randamie.

UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 11 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Holly Holm and Germaine De randamie headlining.
