Gokhan Saki’s UFC Debut Is Set

Kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki is going to be making his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Japan and he is going to be facing Henrique Da Silva in a heavyweight division fight.

Saki (0-1-0) is going to be competing in a professional MMA fight for the first time in well over a decade, as his last bout came in 2004. Saki’s lone MMA fight came in the first ever Cage Fighting Championships event, suffering a TKO loss to James Zikic. Saki is one of the most decorated kickboxers to ever step into the ring and held both the Glory Heavyweight Title and the Glory Light Heavyweight Title.

Da Silva (12-3-0) will enter the fight riding a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Paul Craig, Jordan Johnson and Ion Cutelaba. Da Silva has only earned two victories in the UFC thus far, with those victories coming over Jonathan Wilson and Joachim Christensen. Da Silva has only seen just one of his professional MMA fights go the distance.

UFC Fight Night: Japan takes place on Saturday, September 23 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Mauricio Rua and Ovince St. Preux headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
