Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre is challenging UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping for the gold later this year.

When it comes to the potential super fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr., the former welterweight champion believes it will be the legendary boxer who walks away victorious.

“If he loses, and I’m pretty sure he’s going to lose if it happens, the odds are not in his favor,” St-Pierre explained to RT Sport. “But if he manages to survive, it could be like a win for him. Because after he’s going to start talking, ‘Hey, I’ve stepped into your game, why don’t you step into mine?’ So it depends not only on the result, but how it’s done. It all depends on how things play out.”

GSP now joins a long list of fighters who have voiced their opinion on the potential super fight.

There has been a lot of talk about the potential fight, but the actual fight hasn’t come together yet. The former welterweight champion says its only a matter of time before it happens.

“I think it will happen,” St-Pierre said. “I know Floyd will never fight Conor in a mixed martial arts fight, but Conor could fight Floyd in a boxing match. I don’t think he’s going to win, I don’t think he’s going to win at all, but I think he wants to do it and he’s going to make a lot of money out of it.”

The former welterweight champion may have a vested interest in the fight because rumors are swirling about a potential GSP/McGregor fight down the line.
