Gunnar Nelson suffered a first round TKO loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio in the main event of UFC Fight Night Glasgow.
Nelson claimed an eye poke lead to the finish of the fight and appealed the loss, but the appeal was denied by the UFC.
Paradigm Sports is the management team for Nelson and they issued the following statement on the failed appeal through their Facebook page:
The UFC issued the ruling on the appeal because Glasgow has no commission overseeing MMA events.
Neither Ponzinibbio or the UFC have issued any statements on their own on the matter. Also, neither Ponzinibbio or Nelson have another fight scheduled at the moment.
