A middleweight division attraction is the latest addition to the UFC 215 card as Hector Lombard is going to see action against Anthony Smith.
Lombard (34-7-1-2NC) is going to be entering the fight riding a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t earned a win in well over three years. Lombard’s last win in the UFC came over Jake Shields at UFC 171, which took place in March of 2014. Lombard is a former Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion and he never lost the title, but relinquished it upon signing with the UFC in 2012.
Smith (27-12-0) will enter the fight on the strength of a two fight winning streak, with those wins coming over Elvis Mutapcic and Andrew Sanchez. Smith is currently in the midst of his second run with the UFC, the fight went winless during his initial run with the promotion in 2013. Smith is also going to be making his UFC pay-per-view debut in this fight, this will also be his sixth fight overall in the promotion.
UFC 215 takes place on Saturday, August 19 from a location to be announced with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
