"The Ace" is back on top of the mountain.
It was an eventful night of action at New Japan Pro Wrestling's biggest show of the year in Wrestle Kingdom 13. There were eight title matches and all eight titles changed hands and the final title to switchover on the night was the IWGP Heavyweight Championship which was up for grabs in the main event between Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi. Omega and Tanahashi have traded barbs back and forth since their title match was made official this past October and it all came to a head tonight and ended with Tanahashi becoming an 8-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
Both Omega and Tanahashi took one another to their respective limits and the bout went over 30 minutes. With The Young Bucks in his corner, Kenny Omega channeled his inner aggression and unleashed it on Tanahashi.
Regardless of what Omega put Tana through, Tanahashi did not quit and the end of the match saw "The Ace" hit a "High Fly Flow" onto the chest of Omega to win the match in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom and become an 8-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
