“I’ve been focusing on this particular fight because I don’t want to overlook who I’m facing now and then run into a loss because I was looking too far into the future,” Holm told MMA Junkie. “I’m never promised another day and another fight, so I need to make the most of what’s in front of me. I’m going to have this fight with Aspen Ladd and we’ll see what happens going forward. There’s always short goals and long goals. Yes, I would love to be able to fight with Nunes. It’s one of the things that could happen. I’m just 100 percent into Aspen Ladd right now.”

Nunes became a two division UFC champion when she defeated Cyborg at UFC 232 to win the UFC Women’s Featherweight Title.

The former women’s bantamweight champion believes a bout versus Nunes is one that the fans want to see.

“I think a lot of people want to see it, and I want to do it,” Holm said. “Hopefully we can make that happen. I want to focus on Aspen first, but I would love to be able to have that fight. Hopefully we can do that.”

UFC 235 takes place on Saturday, March 2 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Jon Jones and Anthony Smith potentially headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
