Jackson Wink Academy Limits Close Contact Sparring Due To Coronavirus

The coronavirus is not only affecting MMA promotions and MMA fighters, but it is also affecting the gyms they all train at.

Jackson Wink is one of those places that are affected by the coronavirus, which is why they have limited close contact training for the time being, with the majority of the focus going forward being in striking.

Popular Aussie and NZ MMA Fighters

Gym spokesperson James Hallinan issued the following statement to MMA Junkie:

“JacksonWink Academy continues to train the world’s best fighters. However, we have moved to a more striking-based training to reduce close contact. We are continuously cleaning and disinfecting the facility.”

Hallinan also told MMA Junkie that anybody who are sick or may have been exposed to the coronavirus are banned from training at the facility. Such fighters as UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm, Alistair Overeem and others currently train at the Jackson Wink Academy.

New Mexico, which is where the Jackson Wink Academy is located at, has banned gatherings of 100+ people and have closed all schools in an effort to battle to coronavirus.
