Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Augusto Sakai targeted for UFC event in June
Heavyweights contenders Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai will collide at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on June 5 and the matchup will serve as the card's headliner, first reported by GloboEsporte's Marcelo Barone. Rozenstruik is 1-2 in his last three fights and dropped a unanimous decision in a rough outing against Ciryl Gane at UFC Vegas 20 in his last appearance. Sakai on the other hand will try to bounce back from his first loss inside of the Octagon when he was TKO'd in the fifth round by Alistair Overeem at UFC Vegas 9.
Drew Dober meets Brad Riddell at UFC 263 in June
A fantastic lightweights matchup between Drew Dober and Brad Riddell is being targeted for UFC 263 on June 12, first reported by MMAJunkie's team. Dober is 6-2 in his last eight fights and is coming off a third-round submission loss due to an arm-triangle choke to Islam Makhachev at UFC 259. The New Zealander Riddell is currently riding a six-fight winning streak and took a unanimous decision victory over Alex da Silva Coelho at UFC 253 in his last Octagon outing.
Marlon Vera vs. Davey Grant in the works for UFC event in June
Bantamweights Marlon Vera and Davey Grant will face off at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on June 19, first reported by MMA DNA. This will be a rematch between the pair from their first fight back at UFC Fight Night 84 in February 2016 where Vera won a unanimous decision. The Ecuadorian contender is 2-2 in his last four fights and was defeated by former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo via a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 17 in his last appearance. Grant will look to extend his winning streak to four while getting revenge on Vera at the same time, he defeated Jonathan Martinez via a second-round knockout in his last fight at UFC Vegas 21.
JP Buys out, Malcolm Gordon in against Francisco Figueiredo at UFC event in July
Flyweight JP Buys has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming bout with Francisco Figueiredo at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on July 17 and Malcolm Gordon has stepped in to take Buys' place, first reported by GloboEsporte's Marcelo Barone. Figueiredo is the younger brother of Brazillian UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and will try to build off of his unanimous decision Octagon debut victory over Jerome Rivera at UFC Fight Island 8. Gordon on the other hand will try to avoid a three-fight skid after getting knocked out in just 44 seconds against Su Mudaerji at UFC Vegas 15.
Anderson dos Santos vs. Miles Johns targeted for UFC event in July
Bantamweights Anderson dos Santos and Miles Johns are being targeted for a matchup at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event on July 17, first reported by MMAJunkie's Mike Bohn and Nolan King. The Brazillian dos Santos will try to build off of his first victory inside of the Octagon back at UFC Vegas 15 where he submitted Martin Day in the first round with a guillotine choke. Johns is 3-1 on his run with the promotion and knocked out Kevin Natividad in the third round at UFC Vegas 12 in his last appearance.
